Insight in power and Power Quality

Lievensberg hospital wanted a better understanding of the power and the Power Quality in the installation. Besides this, Lievensberg hospital is always looking for energy saving possibilities in its installation. In consultation with installation company Cofely Zuid B.V. in Oisterwijk, it was decided to get a better understanding of the electrical installation by conducting measurements. These energy measurements show where problems arise in the installation, where energy can be saved and which opportunities are available. Cofely completed these specialist measurements in May 2011, together with HyTEPS.

Estimated annual saving of 20,000,- Euro

The measurement report concluded that Lievensberg hospital could save approximately €20,000,- on its installation every year, by installing an active harmonic filter and a motor regulator. Because of the costs saved through energy saving, the payback time of the filter and regulator is about two to three years.
